Problems faced by minorities in India

A lot of times, we just assume that the minorities that are living in India, the ones that are facing difficulties in life, are Muslims. However, in reality, any community in India in general is facing difficulties. These problems are due to various factors, such as religion, race, place of origin, and so forth.

Despite a relatively peaceful country called India, there have been cases of discrimination which has hurt a few people in particular. This can be traced back during colonial times when India’s British rulers introduced the caste system which was used as a mechanism to divide people according to their physical traits, such as skin color, body shape and the languages they spoke. Since the British left India in 1947, India has had freedom in politics, economy and culture, but the caste system continues to remain a very sensitive issue.

The system is still ingrained in the minds of many people in India who still follow the rules of the caste system. Due to the discrimination that still lingers within the country, there are certain groups of people that are still seen at a distance. This can be anything from discrimination in employment opportunities to what kind of educational institution is available for them to even be considered for entry into universities and this is the case despite a huge number of people in government services, academia and even the police enforcing equal employment opportunities. This is why there is the need for a platform that speaks out about what the government is doing regarding equal employment opportunities and other rights for minorities.

Being a minority in India is a fact of life with everyone trying to climb the ranks of the minority community and trying to become the top. There’s a massive stigma attached within the whole minority community of racism, and being a “minority” can lead to being considered a burden to society. However, India is such a vibrant and positive place to be. There’s a reason why most other Indian states have such a high literacy rate whilst the whole country is on the rise despite the political challenges that faces the country. The minorities have a very important role to play in this rise, and that is by being their own communities. In India there is an issue with the country being a land of over a hundred ethnic minorities with each community having their own distinct culture and language. The “majority” community also has its own set of problems that it has to deal with.

This problem is very easily solved if both communities try to be as united as they can be. People need to have a sense of pride for their own race and community and the problems can be solved if people work together to overcome them. There are still many problems within each community but people must realize that these problems aren’t something that “has to be”; they’re problems that people should solve. The solution can only be found one community at the time.
