TROLLING

What is trolling?
Today’s generation is blessed to have the internet in their lives. The internet is helping kids from all over the world things like education. However, like a coin it has two sides. Along with the positive aspects there are also negative aspects as well. For example trolling.

An internet troll is someone who stirs up drama, and abuses online. It can be full of racism, bigotry, hatred, misogyny, or simply bickering. Trolls like to have the attention of big audiences. In my opinion it is a way by which cowardly people feel better about themselves.

A study published by University of Manitoba, Canada found that trolls exhibit the personality traits of narcissists, psychopaths, and sadists. Because they take pleasure in suffering of others or empathy for their victims. Trolls gain energy by people insulting.

Ways you can deal with trolling?
The two best ways to deal with this type of online bullying:
-If the troll is casual, completely ignore the person’s posting. Even though it may be difficult to let a troll have the last word. It is the best way to deal with trolls as by ignoring them you are doing the opposite of their motive, which is getting your attention.
-For repeating troll offenders, report them to the moderators of the system. Most online platforms have options like block, report, etc. This will lead to the moderators taking some kind of action. In most cases the moderators will take away the troll’s ability to post online.
